Vanessa at Rosa Nautica in Lima Peru

I recently returned from my second trip to Lima, Peru, where I have been performing with TQ Producciones. The people and the food of Peru are now so dear to me, and I look forward to the several trips I have planned to return there.

I am now in Sarasota, Florida, where I will soon begin rehearsals for Cosi fan Tutte - my first outing as Dorabella, and my first Mozart opera! I am thrilled to be back in Sarasota with this company I love so much.

After a truly splendid summer in Maine, I was in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with Opera Grand Rapids for Carmen. To read the review and the profile about me from the Grand Rapids Press, click the link below.

And then it was off to Lima, Peru for a Christmas concert with Harpist Kirsten Agresta and soprano Valentina Fleer. Someone caught some video of us singing an encore on YouTube!

I then spent a week in Appleton, Wisconsin, at Lawrence University preparing a recital with my friend and pianist Ben Binder. We are in the planning stages to take the recital on tour, and will update you as information becomes available.

And finally, I have been asked to contribute blogs to the Huffington Post about the life of a young opera singer.

Please check back here for updates and extras soon!

The Grand Rapids Press says, “Vanessa Cariddi, with her youthful mezzo soprano and honeyed tone that could be sensuous or steely, was a Carmen of many colors, charming not only men but women, too. Certainly, she was playful and sexy, but also a force to be reckoned with.”
